Results revealed that community health nurses were actively working for the welfare of the community with positive attitudes towards their roles in providing optimal care to the population and also confidence in their professional abilities. However, they were aware of their inability to evaluate community health care activities, formulate community health care plans, and conduct surveys and researches. Findings suggest that community health nurses must not just maintain abilities in health promotion activities in the community, but also improve skills in appraisal of performance, community health care planning, and nursing research.
