This study aims to reveal the current situation and issues of Inter Professional work in End-oflife Care at special nursing homes for the aged and consider the roles of inter professional work.
The subjects of the study are four people including a nurse, a certified care worker, and social workers engaged in end of care, and a group interview was conducted with them. The data obtained was analyzed and then categorized.
As a result, 10 categories including support based on understanding of the roles of the professionals and recognition about nursing care were generated.
Although the interviewed professionals are currently attempting to provide teamwork-based care on the basis of partnership and cooperation, when it comes to information-sharing systems among various professionals, they fall short of sharing their thoughts based on their professional values. Therefore, there exists a need to consider how the thoughts of professionals, that form the basis of care to the aged, are conveyed to other professionals to support users as a team when the situations of the users are changing and that systems on Inter Professional work is required to facilitate such information exchange.
