本研究の目的は、在宅要援護高齢者のサポート提供の特徴とその関連要因を明らかにすることであった。調査対象は、B市在住の要介護(支援)認定を受けた者2,129名のうち、調査への協力が得られ、かつ自記式による回答が可能であった者331名とした。結果、227名(80.6%) からの回答を得た。本研究では、サポート提供を、特定・不特定の他者に対する手段的および情緒的サポートの提供実績の観点から測定するために、10項目からなる尺度を開発した。また、ロジスティック回帰分析の結果、男性、ネットワーク数が小さい、IADLの自立度が低い、経済ゆとり感がない者ほど、サポート提供役割を有していないことが明らかとなった。以上より、要介護(支援)認定以降であっても、介護予防の視点から早期に関わり、サポート提供の継続を支援していく必要性があることが示唆された。 |

We aimed to clarify and identify the characteristics and correlates of role to provide support among care-required older adults. Three hundred thirty-one non-demented older adults were recruited from2,129 older adults who were certified as 'Care reQuired' or 'Assistance reQuired' in long-term care insurance (LTC) in their city of residence. A total of 227 answers were collected (response rate 80.6%). Supporter role was operationally defined as "frequency to provide instrumental andemotional support to others" and was measured by a 10-item original scale. Multivariate logistic regression analysis demonstrated that female gender, large social network, high level of IADL independence, and perceived financial resources significantly associated with a decreased risk of "inactivity" . These findings suggest the necessity of assisting care-reQuired (assisted) elderly to obtain and maintain their support role, leading to prevention of infirmity and disability. |
