本研究は本学と英国のUniversity of Wales、Bangorとの共同研究である。研究の目的は両大学の看護教員を対象に、大学における看護教員の役割について、質問紙と面接法による調査を実施し、比較検討することである。その結果、本学では教員の主な役割要素を【実践】【研究】【教育】と捉えていたが、Bangor校では【教育】【牧師的個別指導】【カリキュラムの作成】など大学での授業を中心とする教育を役割要素と捉えていた。また理論と実践を関連付けるために、本学では【臨床の具体的な事例を結び付ける】【現場の人たちと共同研究をする】、Bangor校では【理論を使用し実践をわかりやすくする】【講師と実践講師がよい連携を維持する】で、両大学とも実践の裏付けとなる根拠や知識を関連付けようとしていた。実習評価については、本学では共通の評価基準やプロトコールはなく、大学の教員が評価を行っていたが、Bangor校ではWales地方の看護教育機関で共通に使用している臨床実践評価方法があり、主にMentorが評価をしていた。両大学ともに評価を【客観性に欠ける】と問題視していることが示唆された。 |

A comparative study was conducted using qualitative interviews and a questionnaire to clarify the similarities and differences in Nursing teachers' roles and assessment of clinical practice between the university of Wales, Bangor and Okayama Prefectural university (OPU). The results showed that, while practice, research, and education were considered the main roles at OPU, education, pastoral, tutorial instruction, and curriculum development were found to be the main roles in Bangor. In order to promote the integration of theory and practice, teachers at OPU tried to link theory clinical experiences, and develop collaborative research projects with the nurses in both hospital and community settings, while in bangor lecturers made efforts to make practice easier understand by using theory and also by maintaining a closer liaison lecturer practitioners. As for assessment of clinical practice, it was the teachers' role so no standard evaluation system or protocol was used at OPU; in Bangor clinical mentors were responsible for assessing students' performance in clinical practice as specified within the Clinical Practice Assessment Document. However, both universities were concerned about poor objectivity in clinical assessment. |
